You haven't pushed the Slocum/Coggeshall lines back yet? Or just not posted their colonial emmigrant names to your migrants list? A Google search got me to The Sturgis Project which takes its Slocum information directly from Dr. Slocum's 1880s work, without noticing the Jane Fletcher Fiske corrections of the 1980s & 1990s. I haven't gone to AmAnc to see what Anderson has up in the GM database for either of the couple's antecedents.

Might as well fill in those holes in your spare time!

@ Joey067:

No, I hadn't noticed! I have the 1907 edition of Matthews as a pdf from archive.org but haven't ever gone through other eds. and don't know how many were issued. It doesn't surprise me since Matthews is essentially a social register and they were social-register types. For all the children of the right sort listed there these were likely of little more consequence than phone books (heraldry and all). She was also named in the 1904 memorial volume dedicated to her grandfather the general, one can see on google books.

You must have noticed that Nathalie as well as some of her ancestors are mentioned in "Matthews American Armory" (1903).

It must be fun to have your name published in a book before you even hit adolescence. :

Thanks to Martin Hollick, for suggesting some literature on the Edsall family, where I may be able to find out the ancestry of no. 6, Henry Edsall. I toyed with conflicting possiblities for his parentage based on likely census matches, etc., and then gave up: hopefully an answer can be found in the material Martin has cited.
