And that sent me to MS Arch. Selden B.26 at the Bodleian Library (one of two original 15th-century manuscripts of it), which I discovered was digitized at <a href=\"http:\/\/image.ox.ac.uk\/show?collection=bodleian&#038;manuscript=msarchseldenb26\">Early Manuscripts at Oxford<\/a>:<\/p>\n<div align='center'><a href=\"http:\/\/image.ox.ac.uk\/show?collection=bodleian&#038;manuscript=msarchseldenb26\"><img src='https:\/\/nltaylor.net\/sketchbook\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/deo_gracias.jpg'\/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nHere is the <a href=\"http:\/\/image.ox.ac.uk\/images\/bodleian\/msarchseldenb26\/17v.jpg\">first page, at full resolution<\/a>; here is the <a href=\"http:\/\/image.ox.ac.uk\/images\/bodleian\/msarchseldenb26\/18r.jpg\">second page<\/a> (these are over 3MB each).<\/p>\n<p>Everyone with an <a href=\"https:\/\/nltaylor.net\/sketchbook\/archives\/21\">ancestor at the Battle of Agincourt<\/a> should know this song.  There is an excellent modern transcription and brand-new musicological commentary by Helen Deming, &#8220;The sources and origin of the &#8216;Agincourt Carol&#8217;,&#8221; <i>Early Music<\/i> 35 (2007), 23-36 (unfortunately she focuses on its context within the Trinity Carol Roll at Cambridge\u2014the other manuscript); there is also a perfectly serviceable text and transcription in William Chappell&#8217;s <i>Early English Popular Music<\/i>, ed. H. Ellis Wooldridge (London &#038; New York, 1893), pp. 25-29, of which I&#8217;ve made a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nltaylor.net\/things\/Agincourt_Carol.pdf\">singable 2-page pdf here<\/a> (tenor, treble &#038; baritone can do it quite nicely).<\/p>\n<p>[* actually there are two, no. 449, a pedestrian modernization from the 1950 <i>Hymns Ancient and Modern<\/i>, and the interesting one, no. 218, harmonized by Richard Proulx, &#8220;based on E.
